Janitor AI can provide a free way to start chatting, but “free” does not describe every model, queue or usage pattern. The total can depend on which chat model you select and whether you connect a separately billed provider.
We did not find a stable, accessible official price table that justified publishing a fixed Janitor AI subscription amount on August 21, 2026. Rather than copy a number from an old review, this page tells you where costs can enter and what to check in the current interface.
The three layers that can affect the bill
Platform access
Opening an account and using an available hosted option may have a free starting point, subject to current limits, queues and model availability.
Model access
Different hosted models can have different allowances or priority. The selected model matters more than a generic “free” label.
Outside-provider charges
A bring-your-own-key connection can be billed by that model provider, even when the Janitor AI interface itself does not charge for each message.

Why old Janitor AI price lists conflict
Janitor AI's model options have changed over time, and regional currencies, experiments or app-store offers can make two screenshots look different. Third-party articles often mix the cost of Janitor AI with the cost of an external model account.
The only number that should decide a purchase is the one shown to your account at checkout, together with its renewal and cancellation terms. Take a screenshot before confirming if you want a record of the offer you accepted.
Is Janitor AI free enough for regular use?
That depends on model availability, waiting tolerance and conversation length. Free access can be perfectly adequate for testing characters. It may feel less adequate if you want long sessions at peak times or a specific model that is not included in the current free path.
Run the same kind of conversation you expect to have later. If the free experience only works because you avoid your normal use case, it is not a meaningful trial.
