What is roleplay AI - and how is it different from companion chat?
Roleplay AI is collaborative fiction with an AI character or cast. You establish who is present, where the scene starts and what each character wants; the model responds as part of that fiction. It can be dialogue, prose or a mix.
A companion chat usually centers on one ongoing relationship. A roleplay tool also needs reusable world context, character definitions and scene structure. SultrAI supports both, but this page is for the second job: creating a scenario you can shape, save and revisit.

Can the AI really stay in character for a long scene?
SultrAI sends the active character definition, recent history, and relevant memory into the conversation. Generated responses can still make mistakes or drift, so this is a product capability rather than a guarantee of perfect performance.
What kinds of scenarios can I run?
Fantasy, historical, supernatural, contemporary, romantic, and explicit fictional-adult scenarios can be used when they comply with the Acceptable Use Policy.
Is it free to start?
A guest can send eight messages without a credit card. Continued use and media consume account credits after signup.
Are the companions real people?
No. Every companion is a fully synthetic, AI-generated fictional character who is 18+. The cast of your story is entirely fictional - no real people or real likenesses involved.
Can I get photos that match the scene?
Yes. Registered users can request a scene image for 200 credits. The renderer uses character and scene context, and her face stays the same.
Does the story carry between sessions?
Conversation history, rolling per-character memory, and authored story-arc state persist. Independent branching, pins, and multiple resumable story states are not currently marketed as live.
Can I customize the character I'm playing opposite?
Yes. You choose the companion's base personality before you start, and she adapts further to the role you've written for her as the scene unfolds.
Is my roleplay history private?
Roleplay history is private by default but stored to provide history and memory. Sign-in supports email, Google, and Discord. Consented session replay is currently enabled with sensitive-field masking and up to 30-day retention.
